Brooklyn Rider
The multi-faceted string quartet Brooklyn Rider has brought their signature approach to audiences all around the world. With an inclusive eye for programming, a Brooklyn Rider concert is as likely to include a Beethoven quartet as it is a traditional Persian folk song. Their albums (Passport, Silent City, and Dominant Curve) have received attention from publications ranging from Pitchfork Magazine to Gramophone and are regularly played by radio stations that range in focus from classical, avant-garde, folk, world, jazz, to popular music. Recent concert highlights include their Lincoln Center Debut as part of the inaugural Tully Scope Festival, an appearance at the 2010 South by Southwest Festival, and the release of their latest recording Brooklyn Rider Plays Philip Glass on the composer's label, Orange Mountain Music.
